Receiver and Parts-Kit Requirements

An SBA3 PISTOL KIT should not be assumed to include a receiver unless the contents expressly state that one is included. Under federal regulations, certain frames, receivers, partially complete receivers, and readily convertible parts kits may be treated as regulated firearms.

Transfer, serialization, recordkeeping, and background-check requirements can depend on the kit’s contents and the seller’s federal firearms license status. State and local laws may impose additional restrictions, permits, registration requirements, feature limitations, or prohibitions.

Safe Handling and Storage

Keep every component inaccessible to children and unauthorized persons. If the kit is associated with a completed firearm, treat that firearm as loaded until personally verified otherwise. Keep ammunition stored securely and separately when appropriate.

Before any lawful use, have the completed firearm inspected by a qualified gunsmith or the relevant component manufacturer. Incorrect, damaged, or incompatible components may cause malfunction, serious injury, or death. Wear appropriate eye and hearing protection whenever handling or firing a completed firearm.
